A VIP programme that creates valuable synergies between artists, gallerists and collectors.
Promoting collecting is something we are passionate about at ARA. Especially when we have the opportunity to collaborate with clients such as MARTE, the only contemporary art fair in the Valencian Community. The fair is held at the beginning of each summer at the city’s Auditorium and Congress Centre. This event is distinguished by hosting a select group of around 15 carefully chosen national art galleries.
Thanks to its VIP programme that brings together events such as lectures, guided tours and lunches or dinners in fascinating settings such as Villafames or the Benicassim beach, MARTE stands out for generating synergies between artists, gallerists and collectors, thus creating a lively and stimulating environment for all art lovers.
It is positioned as a place that seeks to encourage art collecting in its early stages by offering a selection of emerging or under- established artists whose works are affordable. In the words of the organisers: “MARTE, in collaboration with galleries, selects artists who are at a stage in their careers where they have a promising future, making them the ideal choice to start an art collection”.
MARTE also presents a series of awards. These include the ‘MARTE Cerámico’ prize, curated by Teresa Calbo, the ‘Premio Castellón’ and the ‘Premio Nacional’. Then there is the ‘MARTE Social’ prize, which includes round tables addressing topics such as artistic residencies and the registration of intellectual property; finally, there is the ‘MARTE Orbital’ prize, which offers various institutions the opportunity to exhibit their projects at the fair.
In line with this objective, from the 2021 edition the ARA team is in charge of coordinating the fair’s VIP programme, bringing in established and emerging collectors to participate in exclusive activities and events to kick off the summer under the sign of art.
MARTE is established as a reference artistic event in the Valencian Community, offering a platform both for the trade of contemporary works of art and for the promotion of emerging artists and the interaction between the different actors in the art world.
